Rotary Bored Piling
Rotary bored piles are formed by drilling to the required depth using a temporary casing and auger located on a Kelly bar. The temporary casing is installed to the required depth to provide support to the pile bore through unstable soils. The pile bore is extended using augers or digging bucket, with support fluid being added if unstable soils are present at depth. Once the design depth is reached, the reinforcement cage is placed, and the concrete placed into the bore via a tremie pipe. As the pile is concreted to the required depth, the casing is withdrawn for future use.
